    The Community

This community is a book club of sorts. Each month, community members or maintainers will make book suggestions based on any criteria they see fit. The book suggestions will be organized into monthly polls in which members will vote on the books they'd like to read. A week after the poll has been posted to the community, votes will be tallied up and, using a point-system based on first/second choices and books that have been previously read, and a book will be chosen. The community members will commit to reading the chosen book some time throughout the month. Discussions will be carried out through community posts and/or comments on the book. It is not mandatory that every member read every book decided upon. Members can stick around to get in the conversations, choose to not read any book, etc. The object of this community is to have fun and maybe learn a little. However, some participation is expected to remain a member. Somtimes, books will be extraordinarily long or members will be extraordinarily busy, so a book may cover a span of two or three months. Everything is up to the members. Maintainers are not going to be power-hungry control freaks because, let's face it, this is just a LiveJournal community and it is just Something To Do. These are not life and death situations and nothing at all is obligatory. Have fun. Relax. Read.

    Joining the Club

This community is closed for various reasons, none of which will be listed but all of which will be considered when adding members. If you'd like to join the club, add your name to the Membership Queue and you will be considered. Very rarely will applicants be rejected; however, any person can be rejected for any reason. Keep this in mind and don't take it as a personal attack if you are not added. Thank you for taking an interest in our little cozy club!
